Social Services
UMOS Social Services are holistic, wrap-around programs that complement our two other divisions – Child Development and Workforce. UMOS staff work to ensure clients and customers feel safe and secure, healthy and housed, warm, welcomed, and thriving. Below is a brief description of each Social Services program we offer.
Anti-Human Trafficking
A Wisconsin program that identifies and protects victims of labor and sex trafficking and enhances the quality and quantity of services available to victims and survivors.
Farmworker Housing
We maintain both temporary and permanent housing options for farmworkers in Minnesota and Wisconsin to address shortages of available, affordable farmworker housing.
Food Pantry
Serves people residing in Milwaukee zip codes 53207 and 53221 as well as all first-time visitors. We offer food boxes that contain fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, milk, and meats, as well as pre-packaged snacks and non-perishable foods.
Health Promotions
Provides safe sex supplies, STD testing and prevention, and opioid harm reduction. Additionally, advises policy on tobacco and nicotine use prevention in the Latino community. Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Latina Resource Center (LRC)
The LRC provides comprehensive, holistic supportive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The LRC serves all genders, races, ethnicities, and age groups in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP)
Provides assistance for heating costs, electric costs, and energy crisis situations. Serves Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Marquette Counties in Wisconsin..
