Inspiring hope. shaping lives.

In 1965, UMOS was formed by community and faith leaders who recognized the unmet needs and aspirations of migrant and seasonal farmworkers. While never forgetting its origins and initial population, UMOS has expanded its programs and services to assist people of all ethnic, racial, and linguistic backgrounds who struggle to meet their needs and dream of a better life for themselves and their families.

Welcome To UMOS

Welcome to UMOS, where we have been helping families build better futures for 60 years. By partnering with donors, government agencies, businesses, and other nonprofits, UMOS’ dedicated team of professionals provides the individualized child development, workforce development, and other social services families need to build the better futures they envision for themselves.

Our Mission

UMOS, a non-profit advocacy organization, provides programs and services which improve the employment, educational, health and housing opportunities of under-served populations.

Childhood Development

UMOS offers early childhood care and education services that meet the specific needs of migrant and seasonal farmworker families and facilitate school readiness, enabling parents to focus on earning a good living to support their families while fostering a healthy learning environment for children.

Social Services

UMOS Social Services are holistic, wrap-around programs that complement our two other divisions – Child Development and Workforce. UMOS staff work to ensure clients and customers feel safe and secure, healthy and housed, warm, welcomed, and thriving.

Workforce Development

UMOS is committed to developing and advancing our nation’s workforce through substantial employer engagement, deep community connections, career advancement, human service supports, industry-driven education, and training.
