The UMOS Latina Resource Center Staff and all Social Services Program Staff are trained in listening, empathizing, and devising personal safety and progression plans based on individual needs. Caring for clients comes naturally.

The UMOS Latina Resource Center provides comprehensive and holistic supportive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. The Center serves all genders, races, ethnicities, and age groups.

The Centerís goals are to increase the safety of individuals, enhance their emotional wellness and provide resources that empower individuals and families to live a violence free life.

During 2017/2018, UMOS staff provided supportive services, advocacy and outreach to:
  • 251 victims of sexually assault
  • 657 victims of domestic violence
  • 230 crisis phone line callers
  • 129 survivors of the Adult & Children Together parenting program
  • 156 middle school youth through the Safe Dates: Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program
  • 1,000 individuals through domestic violence, dating violence & sexual assault outreach activities and community presentations
  • 27 victims of labor and sex trafficking
  • 1,009 persons through outreach activities
  • 1,928 social workers, healthcare workers, law enforcement, educators, farmworker caseworkers, and other first responders trained on sex and labor trafficking
  • 2,000 individuals through public awareness material.
