Wisconsin Works (W-2)

UMOS continues to receive national and international recognition for its innovation and performance in workforce development. UMOS operates or co-operates two one-stop centers in Wisconsin, three in Kansas, and four in Texas.

UMOS is the largest W-2 service provider in the State of Wisconsin - servicing the Southeast and Central Regions in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. W-2 is Wisconsin's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program for families with dependent children. Individuals who meet program eligibility requirements are maintained in the Work Programs (WP) subsystem to record/document individual activities and services provided to assist the individual to gain employment and maintain self-sufficiency.

UMOS was awarded the Case Management Services (CMA) and Job Development and Placement (JDPA) contracts for both Regions. The W-2 Program is the largest program within UMOS. The program is implemented through the UMOS Job Centers and serves the largest W-2 customer base in the state. UMOS has been a W-2 operator since 1997.
