UMOS held its Annual Cinco de Mayo SpringFest at the Wisconsin State Fair
Grounds. Mexican music, food, entertainment, carnival rides were enjoyed by
all.
UMOS celebrated its 42nd anniversary in July of 2007 with an annual corporation
banquet. The theme was "People plus Passion equals Progress." UMOS staff, board
of directors, friends and supporters from the corporate and nonprofit community
attended.
One of the proudest moments in Mexican history occurred late on the night of
September 15, 1810 when Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla demanded that Mexicans should
govern Mexico.
In 2006 UMOS distributed backpacks with school supplies to over 1,300 kids at
both job center locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This was the eighth
