SSI/SSDI Advocacy Agency
Created in January, 2006, the SSI/SSDI (Supplemental Security Income/Social Security Disability Insurance) Advocacy Agency is an innovative effort to address the unique needs of W-2 clients who have physical and/or mental health barriers to full-time, gainful employment.
In addition to the full array of W-2 support services and benefits, the SSIA Agency provides support and advocacy for clients to apply for, prepare appeals of denial, and secure SSI or SSDI benefits as a means to economic stability in their lives.
UMOS SSIA has the resources to help participants gain work experience and/or training customized to meet their needs. Additional UMOS SSIA services include legal advocacy, home visits, language translation, transportation, education, child care, and on-site FoodShare/Medicaid assistance.
