Bride's Walk

Organized because of the brutal murder of Gladys Ricart on her wedding day in September of 1999, the UMOS Latina Resource Center staff and supporters joined other women across the country, dressed as brides, to raise the awareness of domestic violence, disseminate information and raise funds to support the efforts of the Center.

The 2006 Bride's Walk was the first walk ever organized in Wisconsin. Another walk is planned for 2007.

UMOS Latina Resource Center funding sources include:

  • Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault

  • Office of Justice Department
