Community Learning Center (CLC)

For the past seven years, UMOS, in conjunction with Kosciuszko Middle/Montessori School and a number of community partners, has built a dynamic and engaging after school program. The afterschool program, is based on the broad goals of day school-linked academics, quality recreational activities, and family involvement.

The UMOS CLC engages primarily middle school students ranging from 11-15 years of age, and also provides childcare for a limited number of Montessori students from four to five years of age. The average daily attendance is 83 students per day. Fifty-one percent of the students participate in English as a Second Language classes and ninety-five percent live at or below the federal poverty level.
