UMOS provides basic education to academically and economically disadvantaged adults and youth who desire to improve their basic education level and enhance their basic education level and enhance their employment opportunities.

The Community Learning Center (CLC) is at Kosciuszko Middle School, located just 3 blocks from the Job Center South at 971 West Windlake Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Alcanza program is a partnership between UMOS, the University of Wisconsin system, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, and the Midwest Food Processors' Association. Project Alcanza is a distance learning program funded through a grant from the United States Department of Education's Learning Anytime, Anywhere Partnership.
