MEETING THE CHALLENGE: PEOPLE, PARTNERSHIPS, PERFORMANCE.
I think we all agree that these are challenging times: the sluggish economy, the need for job creation, better health care and immigration reform, the wars abroad, and the need for political harmony here at home.
Non-profit organizations, human services and social services agencies around the country are facing the challenges of reduced or funding elimination, while facing increased need for the services they provide.
UMOS is meeting these challenges head on. We continue to meet the challenges of change through people, partnerships, and performance.
UMOS staff continues to provide quality programs and services that make a difference in the lives of those we serve. We "Build Better Futures" every day.
Our partnerships are built on the premise of working together to serve those in need. We collaborate with other community-based organizations, civic and community leaders, elected officials, foundations, and federal agencies to bring resources together under one roof for more efficient customer service. In addition, our program performance is second to none.
Our 2010-2011 annual report highlights some of our accomplishments during the past year. Because of the commitment and guidance of our board of directors and the dedication and determination of our staff, UMOS is in a unique position to meet the challenges of the future.
Sincerely,
Lupe Martinez
President and Chief Executive Officer
