Title: KENOSHA COUNTY AWARDS ENERGY ASSISTANCE CONTRACT TO UMOS
Details: Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser announced that beginning, January 1, 2012, UMOS will be the agency providing Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) services in Kenosha County. "UMOS has a strong history of managing performance-based contracts in Wisconsin and other parts of the state. We are confident UMOS will serve the citizens of Kenosha County with care and professionalism," states Kreuser. UMOS, headquartered in Milwaukee, is a multi-state, non-profit, advocacy organization that provides programs and services which improve the employment, educational, health and housing opportunities of underserved populations. "We are gratified by the confidence shown by Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser, and we look forward to providing energy assistance to those in need," states Lupe Martinez, President/CEO, UMOS. "We also look forward to providing the National Farmworker Jobs Program and other services within the Kenosha community." The Energy Assistance program provides low-income residents in Kenosha County with financial help for annual home energy costs, restoration of utility services and assistance for emergency furnace repair and replacement services. The amount of heating assistance benefit varies according to household size, income and household heating costs.
