Migrant Head Start Grantee Program (Wisconsin)
Services Provided
The Palmyra Migrant Head Start provides bilingual/bicultural, developmentally appropriate, and individualized educational programming to infants, toddlers, and preschool children in a child care center-based operation. The supplement grant ensures the highest level of quality service, and that “best practices" incorporated into all aspects of children’s daily care meet local and state mandates as well as Head Start Performance mandates.
This funding provided to this program augments existing Migrant Head Start services currently being provided to families and children. The additional dollars provide the program latitude in operating for additional 2 weeks of services, and help offset the cost in serving additional children for service area. This program provides services to individuals with disabilities and mental health issues, and offers nutritious meals, family literacy, and transportation. The center is funded to serve 35 children, and 46 children currently attend.
