Provider Management Services

Childcare Services Program

The UMOS Childcare Services (CCS) program offers childcare to eligible families and helps improve the quality, availability, and affordability of child care. The overall goal of Childcare Services is to collaboratively provide quality educational and support services to eligible children that address their particular needs. The program promotes health and safety, growth and development, as well as abuse and neglect prevention. UMOS-CCS determines eligibility, pays childcare providers, recruits and develops providers, manages provider agreements and offers quality activities to the providers.

UMOS provided childcare management services and direct/indirect educational enrichment programming that enhanced the overall development of children in Webb, Jim Hogg and Zapata counties in Texas through the workforce development funds. Children and families with the greatest need were identified under one of the following eligibility categories: (1) parents who are receiving TANF and/or recently stopped receiving TANF, (2) low income parents, (3) teen parents from low-income families who need child care to attend school, and (4) low-income parents with children with disabilities. UMOS served on average 2,500 children monthly.
